InMandaeism,ʿZlat (Classical Mandaic:ࡏࡆࡋࡀࡕ,lit.'she wove/she span'), alsoEzlat,Īzlat, orʿZlat Rabtia ('ʿZlat the Great',Modern Mandaic pronunciation:[ʕezˈlɑtˈrɑbti]), is the wife or female consort ofShishlam, a figure representing theprototypicalpriest or prototypicalMandaean. Hence, Zlat symbolizes the prototypical Mandaean priestly wife as the archetype of the pure bride.[1] She is described in the Mandaean priestly textThe Thousand and Twelve Questions as the "Wellspring of Light."[2]

Zlat is also mentioned inQulasta prayers17,105,106, 171 (theŠal Šulta), and 173 (theŠumhata).[3]
