Ezhiyeh (Persian:اژيه)^[a] is a city in, and the capital of,Ezhiyeh District ofHarand County,Isfahan province,Iran.^[4] As a village, it served as the capital ofRudasht Rural District^[5] until its capital was transferred to the village ofSian.^[4] Ezhiyeh was elevated to the status of a city in 1996^[6] and is about 75 kilometers southeast of Isfahan.

Linguistic composition of the city consists solely ofPersian dialects.^[7]

Population

At the time of the 2006 National Census, the city's population was 3,309 in 948 households, when it was inJolgeh District^[b] ofIsfahan County.^[8] The following census in 2011 counted 3,481 people in 1,094 households.^[9] The 2016 census measured the population of the city as 3,156 people in 1,081 households.^[2]

In 2021, the district was separated from the county in the establishment ofHarand County and renamed theCentral District. Ezhiyeh was transferred to the newEzhiyeh District.^[4]
