Evy Leibfarth (/ˈɛviˈliːbfɑːrθ/EV-eeLEEB-farth; born January 26, 2004)[1] is an Americanslalom canoeist who has competed at the international level since 2019.[2][3]
She is a two time Olympian, winning a bronze medal in theC1 event at the2024 Summer Olympics inParis.
In 2019, at age 15, Leibfarth won the gold medal in the women's K1 event and the silver medal in the women's Kayak cross event at thePan American Games held inLima,Peru.[4][5]
In the same year, Leibfarth also competed at the2019 World Junior and U23 Canoe Slalom Championships held inKraków, Poland, winning the gold medal in the junior Kayak cross event and the bronze medal in the junior K1 event.
Leibfarth represented the United States at the2020 Summer Olympics inTokyo, Japan.[6] Leibfarth started in both women's events and finished 12th in theK1 event and 18th in theC1 event, after being eliminated in the semifinals on both occasions.
Leibfarth won a bronze medal inKayak cross at the2021 World Championships inBratislava.
At the2024 Summer Olympics inParis she competed in all three disciplines, winning bronze in theC1 event. She also finished 15th in theK1 event and 10th inkayak cross.
Leibfarth is bisexual and was among the LGBT athletes competing at two Olympic Games.[7][8]
