Everett Eric Lindsay (born September 18, 1970) is an American former professionalfootball player who was aguard for 11 seasons in theNational Football League (NFL). He playedcollege football for theOle Miss Rebels, earning consensusAll-American recognition in 1992. He played professionally for theMinnesota Vikings,Baltimore Ravens andCleveland Browns of the NFL.

Early life

Lindsay was born inBurlington, Iowa,[2] and raised inRaleigh, North Carolina. He attendedMillbrook High School in Raleigh,[3] where he played for the Millbrook Wildcatshigh school football team.

College career

While attending the University of Mississippi, he played for theOle Miss Rebels football team from 1989 to 1992. He was initially a walk-on, but later earned anathletic scholarship and anchored the offensive line under then head coachBilly Brewer. Lindsay was a first-teamAll-Southeastern Conference (SEC) selection in 1991 and 1992, and a consensus first-team All-American in1992.

Professional career

TheMinnesota Vikings selected Lindsay in the fifth round (133rd overall pick) of the1993 NFL draft.[4] He played for the Vikings from1993 to1998.[5] He played for theBaltimore Ravens in1999 and theCleveland Browns in2000.[2] He returned to the Vikings for his final three seasons, from2001 to2003.[2] During his eleven NFL seasons, he played in 136 regular season games, started 63 of them, including 32 straight starts for the Ravens and Browns in 1998 and 1999.[5]
