Evan John Jones (October 23, 1872 – January 9, 1952) was aRepublican member of theU.S. House of Representatives fromPennsylvania.[1][2]

Biography

Jones was born inShamokin, Pennsylvania. He graduated fromClarion Normal School inClarion, Pennsylvania, in 1892. He taught school. He graduated from theDickinson School of Law in 1896. He was admitted to the bar in 1896 and commenced practice atSt. Marys, Pennsylvania.[3][4]

Jones was elected as a Republican to theSixty-sixth andSixty-seventh Congresses. He was an unsuccessful candidate for renomination in 1922. He resumed the practice of law inBradford, Pennsylvania.[5][6]

He served as vice president and general manager of the Emporium Forestry Co. and as director and general counsel of theGrasse River Railroad Corp.[7] He died at the age of seventy-nine inBradford, Pennsylvania, and was buried in the Willow Dale Cemetery.[8][9]
