Eurypylus, theThespian son ofHeracles andEubote,[5] daughter of KingThespius ofThespiae.[6] Eurypylus and his 49 half-brothers were born of Thespius' daughters who were impregnated by Heracles in one night,[7] for a week[8] or in the course of 50 days[9] while hunting for theCithaeronian lion.[10] Later on, the hero sent a message to Thespius to keep seven of these sons and send three of them inThebes while the remaining forty, joined byIolaus, were dispatched to the island ofSardinia to found a colony.[11]
Eurypylus, a son ofTemenus, brother ofAgelaus, Callias andHyrnetho. As Temenus intended to leave his kingdom to Hyrnetho andDeiphontes, Eurypylus and his brothers hired assassins to kill Temenus, but the army still supported their sister and her husband.[24]
