Eurospin (Italian:Spesaintelligente,lit. 'Smart shopping') is an Italiancompany in the large-scaleretail trade offood andconsumer goods in thediscount chain present inItaly,Slovenia,Croatia andMalta.[5][6] In 2025, Eurospin will open its first market inSerbia.
Eurospin was founded in 1993 on the initiative of four families ofentrepreneurs already active in the large-scaleretail trade: the Pozzis of theLombard Dugan, the Mions of theVeronese Migross, the Odorizzis of theTrentino cooperative Dao, and the Barbons of theTreviso-based Vega.[7] Thegroup, the first Italian-owneddiscount chain, initially used thefranchising formula and then began to open its own stores.[8]
In 2004 thebrand landed inSlovenia,[9][10] in 2020 inCroatia[11] and in 2024 inMalta.[12]
Since 2009 it has also been involved in thesale of travel with the EuroSpin Viaggi brand.[13]
