Eubulus (Greek:ΕὔβουλοςEuboulos; fl. 4th-century BCE) was a banker fromBithynia, a region on the south shore of theBlack Sea. He oncelent money to aPersian official, taking the lands ofAssos andAtarneus in Aiolis (Aeolis) inAsia Minor assecurity, and thus became ruler of the two realms.[1] He is most famous for his connection to his slaveHermias, who inherited the position of ruler of the city. It was Hermias who invitedXenocrates andAristotle to his court, and later became Aristotle's father-in-law.
