Estelí (Spanish pronunciation:[esteˈli]) is adepartment ofNicaragua. It covers an area of 2,230 km2 (860 sq mi) and has a population of 230,953 (2021 estimate). Its capital is the city ofEstelí.

The flag of the department contains a horizontal tricolour of red, white and green. Its flag is very similar to the flag ofHungary, but the colours are lighter and there is a different proportion.
