Esmail Ahmadi-Moghaddam (Persian:اسماعیل احمدیمقدم) is an Iranian retired military officer who served as Iran'sChief of police, the chief commander ofLaw Enforcement Force of Islamic Republic of Iran, from 2005 to 2015.[1]
Prior to the appointment, he served as deputy ofBasij militia and its commander inGreater Tehran.[1] Ahmadi-Moghaddam started his career atIslamic Revolution Committees and later was transferred toIslamic Revolutionary Guard Corps.[1]
Ahmadi-Moghaddam has a BA in Social Sciences fromUniversity of Tehran and obtained a master's degree in defense management fromArmy's University of Command and Staff, followed by a Ph.D. fromSupreme National Defense University in military sciences.[1]
For some time, he was commandant ofPolice University.[1]
