Sights

Eschau's main sight is theÉglise Saint-Trophime, aRomanesque church dedicated toTrophimus of Arles. The building dates back to the 8th century but has been rebuilt several times until the end of the 13th century. It containsrelics ofSophia the Martyr in aGothicchasse and several woodenpolychrome 15th-centuryGothic statues. The 12th-centurycloister has been destroyed but severalcapitals and other pieces ofRomanesque sculpture by theMaster of Eschau have survived and are on display in theMusée de l'Œuvre Notre-Dame.
