Eoin Brosnan, born c.1980, is anIrishGaelic football player who plays at centre forward. He is a former member of theKerry senior county team and plays his club football forDr Crokes.[1] As of late 2021, he was a practicingsolicitor, working from a practice inKillarney.[2]
Brosnan made his Kerry Senior debut againstLouth in 2000.[1] He won theAll-Ireland Senior Football Championship title withKerry on three occasions - 2004,[1] 2006[1] and 2007. The 2004 and 2006 finals were played againstMayo, while the 2007 final was againstCork. In the 2006 tie, Brosnan came on as a substitute in place ofTomás Ó Sé againstMayo and scored 1-01. In the 2007 game he scored one point and set up another. In 2008, Kerry again reached the All-Ireland final, but lost toTyrone, and there was some criticism of the decision to select Brosnan.[3] He also won twoNational League titles (2004 and 2006)[1] and fiveMunster Championship medals (2001, 2003, 2004, 2005, 2007, 2011, 2013) with Kerry. Brosnan retired from Inter-county football in December 2013.[4][5]
In 2000, Brosnan won aKerry Senior Football Championship medal withDr. Crokes.[1] In 2006, Brosnan and Dr. Crokes were defeated in theKerry Senior Football Championship final bySouth Kerry.[1] However, Crokes qualified to represent the county in the 2006Munster Senior Club Football Championship because South Kerry are a divisional side and not a club.[1] They won the competition.[1] Brosnan scored a vital goal in the replayed All-Ireland semi-final.[1] The team went on to reachAll-Ireland Senior Club Football Championship final, but lost toCrossmaglen Rangers after a replay.[6]
He has also won aCork Senior Football Championship medal and Munster Club Championship medal withUCC.[1]
Brosnan representedIreland in the 2004 and 2005International Rules Series.[1]
