Emil Wakim (Arabic :إميل واكيم ,Lebanese Arabic :[ʔeˈmiːl waːˈkiːm] ; born March 11, 1998) is an American comedian and actor.[ 1] He was a featured cast member onSaturday Night Live for its50th season .
Wakim was born inChicago , Illinois, to aLebanese Maronite father and aWhite American mother.[ 2] [ 1] He identifies as anArab Christian .[ 3] [ 4] [ 1] He graduated fromHinsdale South High School and attended college atIndiana University in Bloomington, Indiana.[ 5] [ 6]
Wakim was selected as a New Face of Comedy at theJust for Laughs Comedy Festival.[ 7] He has opened for comedians includingRoy Wood Jr. ,Kyle Kinane ,Nikki Glaser ,Hasan Minhaj , andNeal Brennan .[ 6] In 2022, he made an appearance onThe Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon .[ 8]
In September 2024, Wakim was announced as one of three new featured cast members onSaturday Night Live for its50th season .[ 9] [ 10] He is the show's first cast member of Lebanese heritage.[ 11] On August 27, 2025, Wakim announced on Instagram that he was let go prior toSNL 's51st season , saying the decision was a "gut punch" but that he was grateful for his time at SNL.[ 12]
