Elsinore Trough

TheElsinore Trough is agrabenrift valley inRiverside County, southernCalifornia. It is created by theElsinore Fault Zone.

It is located between theSanta Ana Mountains to the west, and theTemescal Mountains of thePerris Block and theTemecula Basin to the east.

This graben valley is broken into a series of sections bytransverse faults. These smaller graben valleys are theTemescal Valley,Elsinore Valley,Temecula Valley andWolf Valley.[1][2]

The cities ofCorona,Lake Elsinore,Murrieta,Temecula, andWildomar; thecensus-designated place ofTemescal Valley; and the Reservation of thePechanga Band of Luiseno Mission Indians are located in the Elsinore Trough.
