Ellie White (born 14 June 1989)[1] is an English actress and comedian. She is best known for playingPrincess Beatrice of York in theBritish royal family parodyThe Windsors (2016–2020) and Katia in the sitcomStath Lets Flats (2018–2021).
In 2022, Ellie co-wrote and starred in the BBC sketch showEllie & Natasia, alongside her comedy partnerNatasia Demetriou. The show won Best TV Sketch Show at the Comedy.co.uk Awards 2022.[2]
Ellie White is fromOxford.[1] Her father is journalistJim White.[3] She attended theUniversity of Bristol,[4] and was a member of theBristol Revunions, graduating in 2010.[4]
White's career started in 2013, doing comedy stand-up at theEdinburgh Festival Fringe.[5] After the festival, White landed her first TV appearance on theChannel 4 TV seriesJamie Demetriou's Comedy Blaps,[6] and onBBC Three'sLive at the Electric,[6] as well asBBC Radio 4'sFresh From the Fringe.[6][7] In 2015, White landed a regular role in series 2 ofHouse of Fools.[8]
In 2019, White teamed up with long-time stand-up comedy partnerNatasia Demetriou[9] to make critically acclaimed comedy sketch pilotEllie & Natasia for the BBC.[10] Since 2016, White has portrayed the character ofPrincess Beatrice of York for three seasons of the spoof royal comedyThe Windsors, alongside actressCeleste Dring, who plays her royal sisterPrincess Eugenie.[11][12]
In 2020, White played the main role of Cathy in the BBC comedy seriesThe Other One,[13] and starred alongsideLee Mack in the BBC sitcomSemi-Detached.[14][15]
In 2021, White played a voice only role as "Radio" in theSky One television comedy seriesBloods about two paramedics.[16] In 2022, she appeared inThe Dumping Ground,We Are Not Alone andThe Witchfinder.[1]
