John McCain was the seniorUnited States senator fromArizona from 1987 until his death in 2018 and was the2008Republican nominee forPresident of the United States; however, he lost the election to SenatorBarack Obama of Illinois. McCain was involved in many elections on local, statewide and nationwide stage since his first election to theUnited States House of Representatives in 1982.
