Elaine Thomson (born 1957 inInverness) is a formerScottish Labour Party politician. She was theMember of the Scottish Parliament (MSP) for theAberdeen North constituency from 1999 to 2003.[1]

In the2003 election she was defeated byBrian Adam of theScottish National Party (SNP).[1] After her defeat she returned to work with her previous employer, anAberdeen-based IT consultancy.

Thomson stood again in Aberdeen North at the2007 Scottish Parliamentary election but again lost to Brian Adam by an increased majority.[2]
