Elaine Pope is a Canadian writer and film producer. Born inMontreal,Quebec,[1] she began her career writing TV specials forLily Tomlin, including the 1981 TV specialLily: Sold Out, as well as the ABC-TV live sketch-comedy showFridays (a rival ofSaturday Night Live) and theHBO seriesNot Necessarily the News. She won anEmmy Award for co-writing the episode "The Fix-Up" for the TV seriesSeinfeld[2][3] and was the producer and co-writer for the 2004 remake ofAlfie starringJude Law.
