TheEl Pilar Fault System (Spanish:Falla El Pilar) is a complex ofgeological faults located in state ofSucre in northernVenezuela. The fault system is of right-lateralstrike-slip type and has an east–west orientation. Motion along the fault is largely transferred to theWarm Springs Fault inTrinidad Island.[1]

Turkey'sEast Anatolian Fault presents the same configuration of elements of subduction and thrusting.[2]
