His major local hits under his own name include "Kung Fu", "El Gato Volador", "Chacarron Macarron" and "Dame Tu Cosita" (which features Jamaican dancehall musicianCutty Ranks).

As a producer, El Chombo is best known for producingLorna's 2003 hit single "Papi chulo... (te traigo el mmmm...)", which served as an introduction ofreggaeton for many Europeans, reaching number one on theFrench charts with top ten appearances inGreece,Italy,India,Turkey and theNetherlands. He also released an EP calledMacarron Chacarron containing many mixes of his hits.

In 2006, there was a campaign onBBC Radio 1 in theUnited Kingdom to get the song "Chacarron Macarron" to number one on theUK Singles Chart; in the end, it peaked number 20 on the chart.

In March 2018, "Dame Tu Cosita" became aviral Internetdance challenge andmeme.
