Eduardo de Zulueta y Dato (4 December 1923 – 28 July 2020) was aSpanish nobleman and a diplomat.
Born inParis, son ofErnesto de Zulueta e Isasi (1892–1969),Ambassador ofSpain toStockholm and his wife, María de la Concepción Dato y Barrenechea (1890-1973), daughter ofEduardo Dato e Iradier,Prime Minister of Spain and his wife,María del Carmen Barrenechea y Montegui, Duchess of Dato, (1890–1973).[1][2]
He was aLicentiate inLaw and aDiplomat. He wasAmbassador ofSpain inLuxembourg andAlgeria,Permanent Observer Ambassador of Spain to the Organization of American States inWashington, D.C.,Director-General ofEcclesiastical Affairs at theMinistry of Justice, Chief of Protocol of theInternational Exposition of Seville,Director ofInternational Affairs of theInstituto Cervantes, etc., and was createdGrand Cross of theOrder of St. Raymond of Peñafort and theOrder of St. Sylvester of theHoly See,Commander of the Order of Civil Merit ofSpain and theOrder of Isabel the Catholic andKnight of theOrder of Charles III.[1]
He was married to Princess Renata of Altenburg (1931-2024), youngest daughter ofArchduke Karl Albrecht of Austria and his Swedish wife, wifeAlice Elisabeth Ankarcrona.
He died in July 2020 at the age of 96.[3]
