Eduardo Cavaliere (born 29 September 1994) is a Brazilian lawyer and politician, affiliated with theSocial Democratic Party (PSD).[1] He was the secretary of the environment for the city ofRio de Janeiro from 2021 to 2023 during themayorship ofEduardo Paes,[2][3][4] and later became the secretary of the municipality's chief of staff[5][6] from 2023 to 2024.
In October 2021, he was the Brazilian delegate to theCOP26,[7] and later, in June 2022, to Stockholm+50,[8] organized by the Swedish government and hosted by theUnited Nations General Assembly.
In2022, Cavaliere was elected a state deputy for the state ofRio de Janeiro, with 33,688 votes.[9]
In2024, he was elected to become the vice-mayor of the city of Rio de Janeiro, winning in the first round as part of the ticket led by incumbent Eduardo Paes. They won against the second place ticket, led byAlexandre Ramagem andÍndia Armelau, by a 30-point margin. He took office on 1 January 2025.[10]
