Edmund Marten

Edward Marten (31 March 1688 – 8 October 1751)[1] wasDean of Worcester from 1746 until his death in 1751.[2]

Marten was the son of John Marten ofLavington, Wiltshire.[1] He was educated atWinchester College, where he gained a scholarship in 1698,[3] andNew College, Oxford, where he matriculated in 1706, graduatingBCL 1713,DCL 1718.[1]

In the church, he held the following positions:[1]

On 23 February1734/5, Marten married Jane Hawkins.[1][5]
