Edith Helen Paull (14 January 1902 – 1975) was an Indian medical nurse fromUttar Pradesh associated with theIndian Red Cross Society.[3][4]
She did her nursing studies atBedford College, London, with the assistance of aFlorence Nightingale scholarship and started her career in 1928.[5] She held the post of the nursing matron at many renowned medical institutions such as theLady Hardinge Medical College Hospital, New Delhi, the Government Civil Hospital,Allahabad,Gokuldas Tejpal Hospital,Mumbai andJehangir Hospital,Pune and presidedThe Trained Nurses' Association of India for six years.[5] A winner of theFlorence Nightingale Medal in 1964,[5] she was honoured by theGovernment of India in 1967, with the award ofPadma Shri, the fourth-highest Indian civilian award for her contributions to the society.[6]
