Édgar Jahir Alaffita García (born 18 October 1996) is a Mexican professionalfootballer who plays as adefender forLiga de Expansión MX clubAtlético La Paz.

Club career

Alaffita was discovered byMiguel Fuentes, who wasSan Luis's coach at the time, while playing forSan Luis in various youth competitions. He signed his first professional contract in June 2013 and made his first team league debut on 30 August 2013, coming on as a 66' substitute for Néstor Olguín in a 2–1 win againstEstudiantes Tecos.[1]

Alaffita was loaned out toClub Necaxa in June 2014.[2]

Alaffita joinedPumas Tabasco in May 2021.[3] He became a consistent starter and rose to be club captain.[4] Alaffita began training with the first team,Pumas UNAM, in late 2022.[4][5] He was ultimately included on the team roster by managerRafael Puente Jr.

On 8 January 2023, Alaffita made hisLiga MX debut with UNAM as a member of the starting lineup in their 2–1 win overJuárez.

In June 2023, Alaffita signed withAtlético La Paz.[6]
