Edward Richard Morrison Bye is a British film and TV producer and director. He directed the episodes of thescience-fictionsitcomRed Dwarf fromseries I to IV and VII to VIII.
Ed Bye is the son ofRoyal Marine Colonel Francis Clifford Edward Bye,OBE, ofGreat Bedwyn, Wiltshire, andTwickenham,[1][2] He later attendedRavensbourne College, London.[3]
In 2011, he co-founded the production companyTall TV withTim Dawson andSusan Nickson.[4]

He is married to comedian and actressRuby Wax and has three children. His sister, Julia (d. 2009), was married to the 6thLord Garvagh.[5][6]
