Edward Marshall Beatty Jr. (April 6, 1932 – June 7, 2008) was an American professionalfootballcenter who played in theNational Football League (NFL) for theWashington Redskins, theSan Francisco 49ers, and thePittsburgh Steelers. He playedcollege football at theUniversity of Mississippi and was drafted in the first round of the1954 NFL draft by theLos Angeles Rams. Beatty was born inClarksdale, Mississippi, practiced dentistry after his playing days were over and died inTiptonville, Tennessee where he lived.
