Ecology at the Centre (French:Écologie au centre,ÉAC), known as theIndependent Ecological Alliance (French:Alliance écologiste indépendante,AEI) until 2022, is a Frenchgreen political party and former electoral coalition.
The coalition was originally created ahead of the2009 European Parliament election, and was composed ofAntoine Waechter'sIndependent Ecological Movement (MEI), Jean-Noël Debroise'sEcology Generation (GE), andJean-Marc Governatori [fr]'s France in Action (LFA). After MEI and GE's departure from the coalition in 2010, Governatori's LFA took over the name of the coalition in 2011. In the2022 legislative election, the party's candidates were presented under the name Ecology at the Centre.
The coalition won 3.63% of the vote nationally and won no seats.[1]
The Independent Ecological Alliance (AEI), after winning 3.6% in the European elections, is running independent lists in 10 regions.[2] The AEI signed electoral deals withEurope Écologie inAlsace andMidi-Pyrénées, with the MoDem inAuvergne,Franche-Comté,Pays de la Loire andPoitou-Charentes.
