SES-11 /EchoStar 105 is ageostationarycommunications satellite operated bySES andEchoStar and designed and manufactured byAirbus Defence and Space. It has a mass of 5,200 kg (11,500 lb) and has a design life of at least 15 years.[3]

The spacecraft had been ready to beamtelevision programming and video services across theAmericas for SES and EchoStar. TheFalcon 9launch vehicle has placed the satellite into ahigh-altitudesupersynchronous transfer orbit.[4]
