Early growth response protein 3 is aprotein in humans, encoded by theEGR3gene.[5][6][7]
The gene encodes atranscriptional regulator that belongs to theEGR family of C2H2-typezinc-finger proteins. It is an immediate-early growth response gene which is induced bymitogenic stimulation. The protein encoded by this gene participates in the transcriptional regulation of genes in controllingbiological rhythm. It may also play a role inmuscle development.[7]
