TheSuper 8 Tournament is an annualprofessional wrestling tournament held by theEast Coast Wrestling Association. The tournament is contested by eight wrestlers in a one-nightsingle-elimination format.[1]

History

The ECWA Super 8 Tournament was first held in 1997 and was won byAce Darling.[1] The 2011 tournament was broadcast live as an internetpay-per-view for the first time.[1][2] The 2011 tournament was also the first time the tournament had been held outside ofDelaware.[3] Christopher Daniels and Darius Carter are the only two time winners.

The inaugural Super 8 Tournament took part on February 22, 1997, at the St. Matthew's Parish inWilmington, Delaware.[17][18] In the tournament finals,Ace Darling defeated Cheetah Master (accompanied byWWE Hall of FamerLou Albano) to win the tournament and the vacantECWA Television Championship.[4][17]

The second Super 8 Tournament took part on March 21, 1998, at the Saint Matthews Parish Hall inWilmington, Delaware.[17][19]Lance Diamond won the tournament after defeating Inferno Kid in the finals.[5][20]
