E. V. Ramakrishnan is an English-Malayalam bilingual writer, poet and literary critic fromKerala, India. He received several awards, including theKerala Sahitya Akademi Award for Literary Criticism and theOdakkuzhal Award. In 2023 Ramakrishnan received theSahitya Akademi Award for his literary studyMalayala Novelinte Deshakalangal.

Born on 23 March 1951, at Vilayancode nearPayyannur inKannur district.^[1] After educated atPayyannur College,Government Brennen College andDevagiri College, he obtained his PhD fromMarathwada University, Aurangabad (Maharashtra).^[1] He worked as lecturer in English at Jalna, Maharashtra in 1973-84 and then lecturer in the Department of English atSouth Gujarat University,Surat from 1985.^[1][2] He is now working as emeritus professor inCentral University of Gujarat.^[3]

The bookIndian short stories : (1900-2000), edited by him and published bySahitya Akademi has been translated toTamil with titleIndiya Chirukathaigal.^[4]
