E! was ahigh-definitionentertainment channel, owned byNBCUniversal International Networks. It was officially launched inAsia on 30 November 1997 with Hallmark Channel Asia, later known asDiva. For the most part outside of a few local programmes, it mainly carried programmes from the AmericanE! network with dubbing or subtitling where appropriate.
E! Asia was officially launched on 30 November 1997 asSingaporean24-hourEnglishpay television channel. It was broadcast fromSingapore and aired throughoutSoutheast Asia.
E! Asia's production facilities were located inSingapore. Among the popular reality shows includedKeeping Up with the Kardashians.
On 28 January 2015, the HD version of E! was launched.
As part of a restructuring atNBCUniversal International Networks and the launch ofHayu in Asia, E! Entertainment Television along with its sister channelDiva officially ceased broadcasting on 1 January 2020 at midnight.[1] All selected E! shows were moved toCNBC Asia.
In December 2014, the channel launched its first localMalaysianminiseriesFacing Up toFazura.[2] E! Asia also producedE! News Asia Specials, focusing profiles of national celebrities such asAaron Aziz,Anne Curtis,Jay Park, andLisa Surihani.
