Durganagar is located onSealdah–Hasnabad–Bangaon–Ranaghat line ofKolkata Suburban Railway. Link betweenDum Dum toKhulna now inBangladesh, viaBangaon was constructed byBengal Central Railway Company in 1882–84.[2] The Sealah–Dum Dum–Barasat–Ashok Nagar–Bangaon sector was electrified in 1963–64.[3]
