TheDrygalski Mountains are a group of scattered mountains andnunataks lying between theFilchner Mountains and theKurze Mountains in theOrvin Mountains ofQueen Maud Land. They were discovered by theThird German Antarctic Expedition (1938–1939), led by CaptainAlfred Ritscher, and named for ProfessorErich von Drygalski, the leader of theFirst German Antarctica Expedition of 1901–03. They were remapped from air photos and survey by theSixth Norwegian Antarctic Expedition, 1956–60.[1]
The highest peak isUlvetanna Peak at 2,930 metres (9,600 ft).
