Dragoș Bucur (Romanian pronunciation:[ˈdraɡoʃˈbukur]; born 13 June 1977) is aRomanianactor, ambassador for the programYouth of the Move involved by theEuropean Commission,[1] andTV presenter for the showVisuri la cheie broadcast onPro TV .

Dragoș Bucur received theShooting Stars Award, the annual acting award for up-and-coming actors byEuropean Film Promotion, at theBerlin International Film Festival 2010.[2]

He holds an acting degree fromCaragiale Academy of Theatrical Arts and Cinematography inBucharest, Romania. He became known through his roles inPolice, Adjective (praised byThe Washington Post);[3][4]The Way Back,[5] andBoogie. Of the latter,The Guardian notes about Dragoș character: "Dragoș plays Bogdan or 'Boogie', a hardworking guy who has been prevailed upon to take his partner Smaranda (Anamaria Marinca) and their child to the seaside."[6] Also he stars inThe Paper Will Be Blue and many more productions.

Apart from being an actor he has also hosted severalRomanian TV shows likeJurnal de călătorie, Visuri la cheie,Faci Pariu?,Marfă,[7]Câștigi fără să știi, etc.

Awards and honours

For his acting talent he has received many awards in the recent years. In 2002 and 2009 he won theUCIN award for Best Actor for the filmsThe Rage andBoogie,[8] while in 2009 and 2010 he won the GOPO award for Best Actor again for Boogie and Police, he also received theActor Award at Buenos Aires Intl. Festival of Independent Film (BAFICI) writesVariety.[9]

He currently resides inBucharest,Romania, together with his wife, Romanian singerDana Nălbaru and their daughter Sofia, who was born in 2007. In March 2010, Dragos Bucur,Dorian Boguţă andAlexandru Papadopol founded Actoriedefilm.ro - acting school and production company.[10]
