St. Joseph Catholic Church, is a church located at 96 Huron Street inStratford, Ontario, Canada in theRoman CatholicDiocese of London. The church is part of the Avon-Thames Catholic Family of Parishes, which was activated July 2020, and includesImmaculate Conception, Stratford andHoly Name of Mary, St. Marys.
The parish of St. Joseph began in 1837.John Turner (of Brantford) was the architect of the original structure which was completed in 1867.[3] In 1886,Maj. Henry Alfred Gray led the rebuilding and renovation.[5] A new spire was added in 1893 byDavid Gunn Baxter.[6]In 2012, major renovations begin on the interior and exterior of the building, including a new slate roof, plaster repairs, new lighting, and restoration of the windows.[7]In 2017 these major renovations were completed and cost around $5-million.[8][9]In 2024 the church replaced its front steps, which were last renovated in the 1970's, at a cost of around $1-million.[10]

The church is home to a historicCharles S. Warren pipe organ that was installed in 1896 with 17 stops and 2 manuals.[11][12]
