Douglas J. Moo (born March 15, 1950^[1]) is aCalvinisticNew Testament scholar who, after teaching for more than twenty years atTrinity Evangelical Divinity School inIllinois, served asBlanchard Professor of New Testament at theWheaton College Graduate School from 2000 until his retirement in 2023. He received hisPh.D. at theUniversity of St. Andrews, inSt. Andrews,Scotland.

Moo has published several theological works and commentaries on the Bible; notable among them areAn Introduction to the New Testament (withD.A. Carson andLeon Morris) andThe Epistle to the Romans (part of the New International Commentary on the New Testament series). His current research interests areRomans,Pauline theology (andexegesis) andenvironmental theology. He has been a member of the translation committee that produced theNIV andTNIV since 1996, and is its current Chair.^[2] He previously editedTrinity Journal.

In 2014, aFestschrift was published in his honour.Studies in the Pauline Epistles: Essays in Honor of Douglas J. Moo included contributions fromG. K. Beale,Craig Blomberg,James Dunn,Grant R. Osborne,Thomas R. Schreiner, andN. T. Wright.^[3]
