Sir Douglas Allen Booth, 3rd Baronet (born 2 December 1949), is an Anglo-Americanscreen writer andtelevision producer.[1]

Early life

He is the elder son ofSir Philip Booth (1907–1960),[2] and Ethel (née Greenfield; 1914–2018),[3] a pioneeringbroadcaster.[4]

Booth was educated atBeverly Hills High School,California, before going up to readAmerican History andLiterature atHarvard, graduatingBachelor of Artsmagna cum laude.[5]

Upon hisfather's death in 1960, Sir Douglassucceeded to thebaronetcy.[6][2]

Career

As a television producer

In 1985, Booth worked as anassociate producer for fifty-five episodes of the television seriesG. I. Joe: A Real American Hero andRobotix.[7] In 1986, he was co-producer forPotato Head Kids andThe Glo Friends. From 1992 to 1994, he wasproducer for 65 episodes ofConan the Adventurer.

As a television writer

In 1978, Booth was atelevision writer forYogi's Space Race andDinky Dog, and from 1978 to 1981, he wrote forThe All-New Popeye Hour.[8] In 1979, he wrote forThe New Fred and Barney Show,Godzilla,Buford and the Galloping Ghost, andThe New Shmoo.[8] In 1980, he wrote forThe Flintstone Comedy Show andDrak Pack. The following year, in 1981, he wrote forSpider-Man and His Amazing Friends andSuper Friends.[8] In 1981–1982, he wrote forSpider-Man, and in 1982, forThe Little Rascals andThe Smurfs.[8] In 1983, he wrote for the American TV seriesMonchhichi.[8] In 1983–1984, he wrote forHe-Man and the Masters of the Universe.[8] In 1984, he wrote forThe New Scooby Mysteries,Super Friends: The Legendary Super Powers Show,Mighty Orbots andHeathcliff and the Catillac Cats.[8] In 1984–1985, he wrote forThe Transformers, and in 1985, forChallenge of the GoBots.[8] In 1986, he wrote forG. I. Joe: A Real American Hero,Potato Head Kids andThe Glo Friends.[8] In 1987, he wrote forGarbage Pail Kids andVisionaries: Knights of the Magical Light, in 1988 forTeenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and in 1989 forG.I. Joe: Operation Dragonfire.[8]

In 1990, he wrote forCaptain N: The Game Master andThe Adventures of Super Mario Bros. 3 as well asBarnyard Commandos.[8] In 1991, he wrote forPeter Pan and the Pirates,G.I. Joe: A Real American Hero andProStars, in 1992 forMy Little Pony Tales, and in 1993 forMighty Max andAdventures of Sonic the Hedgehog.[8] In 1995, he wrote forX-Men,Skeleton Warriors,Street Fighter andHurricanes.[8] From 1994 to 1996, he wrote forIron Man.[8] In 1995–1996, he wrote forSpider-Man, and in 1996, forThe Magic School Bus.[8]

Since 1999, Booth has been a writer for theSpanish TV seriesYolanda: Daughter of the Black Corsair, and in 2002 forGladiator Academy andFix & Foxi and Friends, both also on Spanish television.[8] He wrote forShadow of the Elves for German television in 2004, forAdventurers: Masters of Time in 2005 andSchool for Vampires in 2006, all onGerman television.[8]

Personal life

Married to Yolanda Marcela Scantlebury on 17 November 1991, Sir Douglas and Lady Booth have twodaughters.[9]

Theheir presumptive to thefamilybaronetcy is his younger brother, thegeologistDerek Booth.[10]
