Dompu Regency is aregency (Indonesian:Kabupaten) of theIndonesian Province ofWest Nusa Tenggara. It is located on the island ofSumbawa and the capital isDompu. It is bordered to the north and to the east by two non-contiguous parts ofBima Regency, and to the west bySumbawa Regency, as well as on its coasts bySaleh Bay,Sanggar Bay, andCempi Bay. It covers an area of 2,324.55 km2, and the population at the 2010 Census was 218,984[2] and at the 2020 Census was 236,665;[3] the official estimate as at mid 2023 was 247,188 (comprising 124,290 males and 122,898 females).[1]
Dompu Regency consists of eightdistricts (kecamatan), tabulated below with their areas and their populations at the 2010 Census[2] and the 2020 Census,[3] together with the official estimates as at mid 2023.[1] The table also includes the locations of the district administrative centres, the number ofadministrative villages (totaling 72 ruraldesa and 9 urbankelurahan) and the number of offshore islands in each district, and its postal codes.
