Dolni Dabnik (Bulgarian:Долни Дъбник[ˈdɔɫnidɐbˈnik]) is a town inPleven Province in theDanubian Plain of central northernBulgaria. It is the administrative centre ofDolni Dabnik municipality and lies to the west of the city ofPleven. As of December 2009, the town had a population of 4,761.[1]
Dolni Dabnik was first mentioned in 1430 and is known for itsoil fields, some of the few in Bulgaria. Besides oil extraction, the locals are mainly occupied in agriculture.

The name "Dolni Dabnik" literally means "loweroak place", in contrast to the neighbouring village ofGorni Dabnik ("higher oak place").
