Dobele Municipality (Latvian:Dobeles novads) is amunicipality in the historical region ofZemgale, and theZemgale Planning Region inLatvia. The municipality was formed in 2009 bymergingDobele town and theAnnenieki,Auri,Bērze,Biksti,Dobele,Jaunbērze,Krimūna,Naudīte,Penkule andZebrene parishes, the administrative centre being Dobele.[3] As of 2020, the population was 19,286.[4]
On 1 July 2021, Dobele Municipality was enlarged whenAuce Municipality andTērvete Municipality were merged into it. It bordersLithuania.
