Dmytro Skapintsev (born 12 May 1998) is a Ukrainian professionalbasketball player for theRip City Remix of theNBA G League.
Skapintsev's professional career began with his hometown team,Cherkaski Mavpy, where he played six years.[1] In 2019, he joined theCal State Northridge Matadors.[2] He spent a few months with the team but never appeared in a game.[3]
In 2021, Skapintsev moved toKyiv-Basket, and would remain with the team through the beginning of 2022. After the Russian invasion of Ukraine shut down theUkrainian Basketball SuperLeague season, Skapintsev played out the rest of the year withPieno žvaigždės.
On 23 October 2022, Skapintsev signed with theWestchester Knicks, playing out the 2022–23 season with the team.[4]
In July 2023, Skapintsev joined theNew York Knicks for the2023 NBA Summer League and on 3 August, he signed with New York.[5] However, he was waived on 15 September[6] and on 9 November, he was named to theWestchester Knicks opening night roster.[7]
On 23 December 2023 Skapintsev signed atwo-way contract with theNew York Knicks,[8] making his NBA debut that night in a 130–111 loss to theMilwaukee Bucks.[9] However, he was waived on 1 January 2024[10] and two days later, he rejoined Westchester.[11]
On 17 September 2024, Skapintsev signed with theBoston Celtics,[12] but was waived on 16 October.[13] On 26 October, he joined theMaine Celtics.[14]
On 17 January 2025, Skapintsev was traded to theRip City Remix.[15]
Skapintsev was included inUkraine's2022 EuroBasket roster. He played in two of Ukraine's five group stage games, and did not play in their Round of 16 loss to Poland.[16]
