Dmitri Valeryevich Khokhlov (Russian:Дми́трий Вале́рьевич Хохло́в, born 22 December 1975) is a Russian football manager and formermidfielder who is the manager of the Under-19 squad ofLokomotiv Moscow.
Khokhlov played forPFC CSKA Moscow andFC Lokomotiv Moscow in native Russia, having abroad spells with Dutch clubPSV Eindhoven and Spanish clubReal Sociedad.
During his time with FC Lokomotiv Moscow he participated in their memorable2003–04 UEFA Champions League campaign, scoring third goal in the 3–0 home victory againstInternazionale.
He played for theRussia national team and was a participant at the2002 FIFA World Cup.He became the winnerCyprus International Football Tournament 2003[2]
Khokhlov won the youth championship with the Under-21 squad ofFC Dynamo Moscow twice, in the 2013–14 and 2014–15 seasons.
He resigned as manager ofFC Dynamo Moscow on 5 October 2019 following a string of losses and Dynamo in 15th place in the table.[3]
On 28 May 2021, he was hired by theFNL clubRotor Volgograd.[4] He left Rotor by mutual consent on 18 November 2021, with the club two points away from the relegation zone.[5]
On 10 April 2023, Khokhlov was appointed caretaker manager of theRPL clubSochi.[6] He left Sochi by mutual consent on 18 September 2023.[7]
On 14 December 2023, Khokhlov was hired byLokomotiv Moscow as the manager for their Under-19 squad.[8]
His son Igor Khokhlov was also a professional footballer.
In 2022 he suedFacebook for banning his surname due to its association with the wordkhokhol, which is offensive toUkrainians.[9][10]
