Dirk Brouwer (Dutch pronunciation:[ˈdɪr(ə)ɡˈbrʌu.ər]; September 1, 1902 – January 31, 1966) was a Dutch-American astronomer.[2]
He received his PhD in 1927 atLeiden University underWillem de Sitter[3] and then went toYale University. From 1941 until 1966 he was editor of theAstronomical Journal.
He specialized incelestial mechanics and together withGerald Clemence wrote the textbookMethods of Celestial Mechanics.
