Dihydroorotase (EC3.5.2.3,carbamoylaspartic dehydrase, dihydroorotate hydrolase) is an enzyme which convertscarbamoyl aspartic acid into4,5-dihydroorotic acid in the biosynthesis ofpyrimidines.[1][2] It forms a multifunctional enzyme withcarbamoyl phosphate synthetase andaspartate transcarbamoylase. Dihydroorotase is azincmetalloenzyme.[3]
