Diego Andrés Álvarez Sánchez[a] (born 23 September 1981), known asDiego Álvarez, is a retired Colombianfootballer.
Álvarez began his career with Independiente Medellín in 2000. He played forSan Luis F.C. ofMexico between 2008 and 2009. In 2010, he returned toColombia to play for Deportivo Cali. He moved toAtlético Nacional in January 2012 and toAtlético Junior in January 2013.
