Richard Swift Steane (26 September 1939 – 3 June 2007) was a Britishsprinter who competed in the1968 Summer Olympics.[1]
Steane won the gold medal in themen's 4 × 400 metres relay at the1963 Summer Universiade, withAdrian Metcalfe,Menzies Campbell andJohn Boulter.
Steane finished third behind Menzies Campbell in the 220 yards event at the1967 AAA Championships[2][3] and third behindPaul Nash at the1968 AAA Championships.[4][5]
At the 1968 Olympic Games in Mexico City, he representedGreat Britain in the 200 metres competition.[6]
