Diane Parry (French pronunciation:[djanpaʁi]; born 1 September 2002) is a French professionaltennis player. On 28 October 2024, she achieved a career-highsingles ranking of world No. 48. On 4 December 2023, she peaked at No. 74 in the WTA doubles rankings.[1] Parry was the junior world No. 1 in 2019.

Parry reached a career-highITF junior combined ranking of world No. 1 on 21 October 2019.[2] She was designated ITF Junior World Champion for 2019.[3]

2017: WTA Tour debut

She made herWTA Tour main-draw debut at theFrench Open thanks to a wildcard, partneringGiulia Morlet; they were defeated by the 13th-seeded pair ofKiki Bertens andJohanna Larsson, in two sets in the first round.[4]

Parry won her firstITF Circuit tournament in Hammamet, Tunisia, partnering Yasmine Mansouri.[5]

2018–2019: Major debut

She made her Grand Slam singles qualifying debut at the2018 French Open, entering the qualifying event as a wildcard, where she upset No. 5 seedJana Fett in the first round, before losing toRebecca Šramková in the second.Parry made her major singles main-draw debut at the2019 French Open as a wildcard, losing in the second round to No. 20 seedElise Mertens, after having won againstVera Lapko in the first. Later that year, she also made herUS Open debut as a wildcard, losing in the first round againstKristýna Plíšková.[4]

2020–2021: First WTA 125 title

In 2020, Parry won her first ITF Circuit singles title in Antalya, Turkey againstBerfu Cengiz in the final.[5]In 2021, she won three additional ITF tournaments, in Périgueux, France, Turin, Italy, and Seville, Spain, bringing her perfect record to 4–0 in ITF Circuit finals.[5]

She reached her first final on theWTA Challenger Tour at theArgentine Open, losing 3–6, 3–6 toAnna Bondár.[6] Two weeks later, she won her firstWTA 125 tournament at theUruguay Open, winning the final 6–3, 6–2 againstPanna Udvardy.[7]

2022: French Open third round

Parry made the second round at theFrench Open defeating defending champion and world No. 2,Barbora Krejčíková, her first career match against a top-10 player and a top-50 player.[8][9] Next, she defeatedCamila Osorio to reach the third round of a Grand Slam tournament for the first time in her career.[10] She lost toSloane Stephens in the third round.[11]

2023: Two WTA Tour doubles titles

Playing at theMérida Open withCaty McNally, Parry won her maiden career doubles title, beatingWang Xinyu andWu Fang-hsien in the final.[12]

Partnering withAnna Bondár, she won the doubles title at theLausanne Open, defeatingAmina Anshba andAnastasia Dețiuc in the final.[13]

Parry was runner-up in the singles at theMontevideo Open, losing the final toRenata Zarazúa in three sets.[14]

2024: Australian third round, three WTA semifinals, top 50

Parry reached the third round of theAustralian Open for the first time at this major, defeating 30th seedWang Xinyu[15] andKamilla Rakhimova,[16] before losing toMirra Andreeva.[17]

On her debut at the WTA 1000 level, at theIndian Wells Open, she recorded her first wins at this level, reaching the fourth round by defeatingMartina Trevisan,[18] 29th seedLeylah Fernandez[19] andAnna Blinkova.[20] Her run was ended by ninth seedMaria Sakkari[21]At the next WTA 1000, theMiami Open, Parry reached the second round defeatingJaqueline Cristian,[22] before losing to 11th seedBeatriz Haddad Maia in three sets.[23] As a result, she reached the top 50, a week later on 8 April 2025.[1]

She reached her first grass-court semifinal at theNottingham Open, losing to sixth seedKarolina Plíšková,[24] having overcomeCristina Bucșa,[25]Daria Saville[26] andKimberly Birrell[27] on her way to the last four.

As top seed, Parry made it through to the quarterfinals at theSwedish Open with wins over wildcardCaijsa Hennemann[28] andDarja Semenistaja,[29] before losing to seventh seedMartina Trevisan.[30]She defeated qualifierOlivia Gadecki,[31]Jil Teichmann[32] andChloé Paquet[33] to reach the semifinals at thePalermo Open, where she lost to top seedZheng Qinwen.[34]

PartneringHarriet Dart, Parry reached the round of 16 in the doubles at theUS Open after a three-set win over Olympic champions and sixth seeds,Sara Errani andJasmine Paolini, in the second round.[35] They lost to 10th seedsChan Hao-ching andVeronika Kudermetova.[36]Seeded seventh, Parry made her third WTA Tour semifinal of the year at theJapan Women's Open, recording wins overErika Andreeva,[37]Greet Minnen[38] andClara Tauson,[39] before losing to eventual championSuzan Lamens.[40]

2025: US Open third round, out of top 100

In July, Parry entered theWimbledon main draw as a qualifier. After defeating twelfth seedDiana Shnaider in the second round, Parry reached the third round, matching her best result at a major so far.[41]
