TheDhanu (Bengali:ধানু,romanized: Dhānu), also called theGhorautra, is a river inBangladesh and a tributary of theMeghna. It flows directly southwards fromSunamganj inSylhet through theeasternthanas ofNetrakona andItna Upazila of the district ofKishoreganj ofMymensingh Region. It flows through the Dhanpur,Itna Sadar, and Elongjuri union of theItna Upazila. It is navigable the year round. It falls and rises with the daily tides and even the canals connected with it a long way inland, at places likeGag Bazar andBadla, experience the effect of these tides.
